Clarion’s latest foray into the car satellite navigation system might be the most advanced driver aid ever seen today. The MAX9700DT is both an entertainment and a GPS unit. This device costs more than most than some second hand cars. Selling at 341,250 yen, this device has a 7 inch LCD and digital television.

It also has a TV tuner to watch your broadcast right on your device. The display is also beautiful featuring a clear 3D display. Even 3G devices today are so advance with preloaded maps of a certain area where you will be able to go. This new aid is much more visual comparing to the others in the market. Featuring 3D graphics of road and where to turn to reach a certain destination.

TomTom has just come out with an addition to its GO line of product (510 and 910). It is an FM transmitter Mount for TomTom GO line which is basically a FM transmitter on a mount. The device is similar to Belkin iTrip for iPod where an attachment will allow you to send audio to your car stereo. The only issue will be it is hard to find a frequency where it is empty and stays empty since there are too many broadcasters and even more are emerging daily.

This unit will play your favourite radio channel and stops for turn directions. This addition is great on what is already a great GPS device. TomTom has really put thought into what the customer wants. Now it will not be too boring when using a GPS since it comes with an optional FM transmitter. You will not have to worry about missing turns as it will interrupt to let you know about it.

The Acer E series comes very handy, as it doesn’t only guide you to your destination, but it can also play MP3, display photographs and manage your contact list.

The main processor is a Samsung running at 300 MHz and, as most current GPS devices, comes with the SiRFStar III chipset. The 2.8’’ touchscreen has a resolution of 240 x 320 and can work in portrait and landscape modes.

Can be expanded with MMC or SD memory cards.
