The U83T is one of 2 new GPS devices Sony revealed at CES. The U83T includes all the features of the U73T – 4.3 inch screen, text to speech, real-time traffic, gesture command controls, 5 million POIs and 2Gb of embedded memory.
Besides that, there is an addition of Bluetooth hands-free calling and Sony’s Position Plus engine, which gives estimated location when the unit can’t connect to the GPS satellite. The U83T will retail for about $500 and be available in February.
It is somehow pricey but the new feature, Position Plus is interesting.
