Magellan has announced its new GPS navigation device – the RoadMate 1200. Simple and user-friendly, the RoadMate has been designed to fit the needs of the first-time GPS user. Fitted with a 3.5” bright screen, the display is very sharp and can be viewed from a number of angles. With a slim and light weight physique, the RoadMate is one of the thinnest GPS gadgets around.

Packed with about 1.3 million POIs, this GPS is driven by Centrality Atlas processors. Although it may not be lightning fast, it can still provide a good level of performance. The maps come from NAVTEQ in a 1 gig SD card that covers 48 states of USA as well as Puerto Rico and Hawaii. The makers are also planning to make the European maps available in an SD card some time soon.
