Benefon’s Gypsy For Nokia GPS Phones

Nokia has taken up Benefon’s social networking application – GeoSentric’s Gypsy. Benefon is an old GPS phone maker and was once quite famous for manufacturing GPS-enabled phones way before GPS was popularised. Unluckily, back then it was very early for GPS to market and the company soon stopped producing handsets and switched into mobile applications.

The GyPSii platform from GeoSentric enables the users to upload videos, sound clips, photographs which are encoded with the places where the videos or the pictures are taken. Then the user’s friends will be able to see the user’s location as well as look for other’s saved places. GyPSii can be run on Windows Mobile and some Symbian smartphones and Nokia is definitely going to elevate its user base. Nokia will make GyPSii available in its GPS handsets that include the 6110 and the N95.
