ASUS, the world renowned brand has recently made public the launching of its new generation mainstream laptops, which are enabled with built in GPS technology. Claimed to be the world’s first GPS Laptops, ASUS has however announced that the U3S laptops has not been intended for specialist use.
Apart from the on board GPS technology, the U3S comes with a 13.3 inch widescreen that is based on the Intel Centrino Duo technology. Its 1280 x 800 screen is also equipped with a 1.3 megapixel webcam along with a Nvidia GeForce 8400GM chip that has a video memory of 128MB. The HDMI port allows the laptop to go with a range of Core 2 Duo processors such as 512MB of 667MHz DDR 2 memory and 100-160GB of SATA hard drive storage. U3S has an external optical drive as well which is also the USB connected unit. The memory card reader that comes on board of the laptop is an 8-in-1. Additionally, you can also choose between the 802.11a/b/g or 802.11n WiFi. However, the Bluetooth 2.0 is optional in U3S while the Gigabit Ethernet comes standard with it.
The US3 external body is comprised of a piano black lid, magnesium alloy framework, stainless steel edges as well as leather palm rests.
