Nowadays GPS is available everywhere but all these cool gadgets need to obtain the information from somewhere. Magellan has introduced its new pro-level GIS users with the MobileMapper CX GPS. The CX is integrated with WiFi and Bluetooth and it can interface with remote databases, link to different units as well as surf the internet. At the same time, the phone-inspired interface allows the mapmakers to log data one-handed.
The CX is operated with WinCE 5.0 which Magellan claims as being simple to develop for. It also has SD expansion for all sorts of outdoor data. The pricing or the availability has not been confirmed yet but for sure the GPS-maniacs are going crazy looking for the CX in the nearest reseller’s shop.
