Global positioning system will now be extended to the usages on the Airlines. Astonishing but true, GPS is capable of assisting the Airlines companies to avoid delays and handle air traffics in a much efficient way. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced recently that the organization will commence on building an ultra-modern satellite- dependent air traffic control system that will function based on the GPS. The introduction of this new technology will enable the FAA to reduce on air traffic almost two to three times, using the skies.

Joshua Vazquez, Safety Director of Phoenix East Aviation based in Daytona Beach, revealed that the new GPS technology will assist the air traffic controllers and the pilots to view airplanes in real time unlike the primitive radar blips that often facilitates delays. Nevertheless, the new GPS technology for the airplanes will allow the planes to takeoff, taxi, land and fly safely as well as closer together. Vazquez also said that this system is very essential up gradation required by the Airlines since the traditional radar systems that are used had been first installed during the 1940’s and 50’s.
