So an entirely separate device for your GPS needs is not your cup of tea and you are looking to find a way to make use of the devices already in your everyday possession to satisfy your GPS requirements? The Garmin Mobile 10 is just the right thing for you! The Garmin Mobile 10 is an add-on for your smart phone or PDA which comes in the form of a clip-on GPS receiver. It is a compact design which only weights 60 grams and measures 18 x 42 x 77 mm.
The GPS data transmission to your device is done through Bluetooth which sends information direct to the Garmin Mobile XT mapping software. The functions Garmin Mobile 10 can offer are almost similar to most standalone GPS navigators like calculation of route to desired destination, voice prompted turn-by-turn directions through your device’s speakerphone as well as visual directions through the mapping software downloaded on your device. The downside of the Garmin Mobile 10 is that it may take several minutes to acquire satellite signal and does not give very detailed direction. However, at £170 a pop is comparably cheaper than standalone GPS navigators minus the bulk.
